Mariya Dilay

Artist Mariya Dilay was born on 07.04.1980. She studied at the art school in Ternopil in 1993-1996, at the local art college (specialty "Designer of art") in 1997-2000, at the Institute of Advertising in Kyiv in 2004, at the International University for Human Development "Ukraine" (specialty "Art and Design of Architectural Environment") in 2007-2014 . She was a lecturer at the Department of Painting and Drawing of the College of the International University for Human Development "Ukraine", as well as a teacher at the private school for children's development "Classics".
2007 - solo exhibition "Variety of Portrait Painting" (Ternopil).
2009 - presentation of a portrait of the world-famous opera singer Solomiya Krushelnytska with the assistance of the editorial office of the newspaper "Vilne Zhyttya" (Ternopil).
2010 - participation in the project "Artists without workshops" (Ternopil).
2011 - the mysterious disappearance of the only portrait of Muammar Gaddafi, which was made by her to order of the Libyan Embassy in Ukraine.
2013 - participation in numerous collective exhibitions in Ukraine with the Art Association "Snovydy", "Presence", worked together with world-wide famous artist Ivan Marchuk in his workshop.
Reproductions of the artist's paintings have been published in the magazines "Woman of Ukraine", "Golden Pectoral", in the catalog of artworks of friends of artist Ivan Marchuk. The artworks of Mariya Dilay are kept in private collections in the USA, Poland, Great Britain, France, Canada, Spain.
The difficult life path of the artist prompted her to open a new project in the city of Malaga (Spain), where she resides now. Mariya Dilay opposes to domestic psychological and physical abuse. She created 27 paintings on this subject. That paintings were exhibited with the support of the local association of women in one of the state museums of Malaga (Spain) in March 2019.
